I rarely get a message on Instagram. What’s more unusual was, it was a lady that looked like a model. Honestly, at first I was hesitant to even open the message, scams and bots typically use images of beautiful women to entice you to click on a link. The next thing you know you’re having issues with your account or worse your computer.
I had to pause a little before deciding if I’m going to push through with Siargao, 1,500 going there which means 1,500 going back. This alone would put a big dent on my budget. Continue reading
I arrived at Surigao at around 8 in the evening. Tired from the boat ride I tried to look for a place to stay, I checked a couple of lodges looking for the cheapest one. I found a lodge that looked cheap so I went on to inquire how much it is for one night. The guy that was guarding the parking area said it’s 500 per night. I then asked if he will be up all night guarding the parking, he said no. He will go up to the lodge at around 10, which means no one will be guarding my precious motorcycle for the remainder of the evening.
A lot of people that I have met during my Travel by Heart 2014-15 PH tour are proud to say that they have worked in Manila. But there’s a different sense of honor and satisfaction when they tell me why they choose to go back and stay in the provinces. Continue reading
The girl was right, after 15 minutes I have pretty much toured the whole island.
It was Christmas day, I thought all establishments and attractions will be closed as everyone was celebrating the holiday. Good thing I followed my gut instincts, the security guard from the hotel told me that there’s really beautiful island just south of Leyte, he even said that it’s way better than Boracay.
After almost getting everyone back in the hotel we proceeded to rest. I then realised that I was bleeding again, I got a pillow cover and stripped it to cover my wound. Then someone informed me that apparently there’s a doctor 2 floors above us and she was treating the injured.
I woke up the next morning unsure of what I’m going to do first. There’s just a lot of things that I feel that i need to accomplish in this place not entirely sure where to start. “Breakfast!” that would help me get my mind straight.
300kms more before I get to Tacloban, I did say that I did not plan to have a route on this trip, but I just have to visit this place as we have a lot some unfinished business.
I arrived at Lavezares which looks like a small town just before I get to Barobaybay, to make sure I’m going to the right direction I decided to ask the locals about the place. Apparently it’s a bit farther than I expected, they also mentioned that I will know that I’m headed the right direction when I’m taking a road that’s close to the coast. As I went on, I begin to notice poor conditions of the roads. Most are un-paved and parts of it are connected by wooden bridges.
