It sounds counterintuitive – I joined a contest about being a wanderer yet I traveled to a place where a lot of motorcyclist go to… But is “wandering” really about going to an exotic location and taking the road less traveled? To be totally honest, I’m not sure. But I do know one thing , every ride is different from the last one and I’m pretty certain that this will be as good if not better than the others.
I received an e-mail one morning from Wrangler congratulating me for being a finalist and that they are inviting me to a small send off party but before that, I should drop by at the Glorietta to pick some clothes and meet the other finalists. Yes, it sounds exactly like a movie. You win a competition and you go pick up clothes head to a bar then party. I kept on joking while I was at the store that there should be a soundtrack for all of this and the song that I had in mind was “I’m gonna be a supermodel”.
I recently joined a competition wherein I became a finalist. It has all to do with being a “Wanderer”. A word that has never crossed my mind in all the time that I have been travelling, until now. Apparently the competitions aim is to find a “True Wanderer”, whatever that means.
A baby Rufous hornbill which is endemic to the Philippines, locally known as a “Kalaw”. Quite common in the mountains of Sierra Madre, I met someone who breeds them at Infanta, Quezon.
