Come on Aileen!

We Can Do It! Is a poster from the WWII that became an iconic representation of women empowerment. That’s the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the image of Aileen of The Moto Quest. Second was the song “Come On Eileen” by Save Ferris.

I was following a different blog, that of The MotoLady, when by chance I saw a post about her. It mentioned something about a lady who’s going to travel the world on a motorcycle, that’s a no-brainer, of course I have to check it out. Red hair, vintage bike and an infectious smile what’s not to like. As I started reading more of her posts, it made me realise how fitting the “We Can Do It” poster relates to her. This is a person who has gone through tough times and has triumphed simply by believing in oneself. She looks very strong, physically, mentally, emotionally and is not afraid to get her hands dirty, similar to the lady on the poster that I mentioned, yet theres still that “cuteness” about her since she likes simple things such as bumblebees which makes her laugh. The poster that I was referring to has been used for different reasons, most prominently it was used as a symbol to empower women, which I think she does effortlessly, but Aileen empowers not only women but people in general. Theres always a lot to learn from a person who has gone through tough times as they have a lot of wisdom to share. I invite you to come on and follow Aileen so we could all know how she does it.
