A baby Rufous hornbill which is endemic to the Philippines, locally known as a “Kalaw”. Quite common in the mountains of Sierra Madre, I met someone who breeds them at Infanta, Quezon.
I remember reading a quote from “The Alchemist”, a book written by one of my favourite authors, Paulo Coelho. The best adventure related story that I have ever read. But this wont be about that, instead this is the opposite.
I looked around to asses what’s really happening, hoping to determine what the next move is. Contents of the pannier were scattered, tools camping equipment and personal items were all over the road. My motorcycle, which I completely ignored, was still lying on the ground spilling gasoline, my passenger sitting by the road injured looking at her wounds and onlookers wait on what would happen next. The irony. I was supposed to visit a place to write my first real story in this journal instead I became the story.
Three weeks… I told myself. In three weeks everything will go live the website, the blog and the Facebook page. I need to at least have one story up by then, nothing major just at least something to get me started.
So I decided to write about the place that I often visit when I just want to go for a quick ride. The plan was to spend time shooting some photos in the afternoon, have some casual talk with the locals spend the night in a tent, maybe do some night photography, then visit some waterfalls the next day.
